New Information Sheet Requirements – Effective January 1, 2027

FOR INFORMATION ONLY: These forms do not take effect until January 1, 2027. Continue using the current forms until December 31, 2026.

Beginning January 1, 2027, new requirements will apply to vendors (sellers) of new homes in Ontario.

Key changes include:

New information sheets for freehold homes, vacant land condominium homes, and freehold homes on parcels of tied land: Sellers of these new homes must include a standardized information sheet as part of the Agreement of Purchase and Sale (purchase agreement).
Updated Condominium Information Sheet: The current information sheet dated April 20, 2022 will be replaced with a new version effective January 1, 2027.
New addenda for purchase agreements: Required for purchase agreements entered into on or after January 1, 2027

These changes support new consumer protection measures, including the introduction of a 10-day cooling-off period for purchasers of new freehold homes and updated disclosure requirements for new home purchase agreements.

As a reminder, licensees are responsible for adhering to these requirements. Failure to comply with requirements may result in regulatory action from the HCRA.
